Here’s how the napkins looked on my tablesetting.. Do you have a favourite napkin fold!

This is the first year that I’ve left my blue and white plates up for the fall season.I usually only have them up from mid-winter until the end of summer, but this year I just didn’t want to put them away.

Blue and orange are complimentary colours anyway.Since Thanksgiving is so early here in Canada, it’s totally appropriate to put a turkey platter out on display in mid-September.A platter like this is such a great, classic piece to have.

I found mine at the thrift store quite a long time ago and it makes its way out of storage almost every year..I found the small pumpkin plates at Pottery Barn a few years ago and I’m glad to see that.

they’re still carrying them.

because they’ve really become pieces that I look forward to taking out of their special little round storage box every year.So far, just having the intention that this time of day should be a good one is helping.

I also make a point to make myself a really great fancy iced coffee and make sure to have lots of fun snacks to put into the lunch pails so that the whole process feels easy and I feel like I’ve done a good job of making something the kids will be excited to eat.Bonus points for me if I have something home-baked to add in.

I’m pretty sure I’ll get bored again with the whole thing at some point in the coming months, so I’ll have to keep my eye open for new ideas to keep making this time of day fun.I’ve really embraced “mini-projects” over the last year as we’ve had no time for real renovations..
